Story
After first picking up a DJ controller at the end of last year, I became instantly hooked and have been trying to self teach myself ever since. Music has always been something that I have loved, it’s a part of me. From growing up with Trance Classics on repeat at a young age, from as soon as I wake, to all the way through to the late night - constantly having heavy hitting dance music playing in my ears. Music is more than just a passion to me.
When I heard about Macmillan’s white collar DJ event, I instantly knew it was something I wanted to be part of. Not only would it give me the chance to learn properly though 8 weeks of intensive training, but also the opportunity to play live at Royal Yacht on the 15th of November. It isn’t going to be easy; the thought of getting up and playing in front of a live audience is daunting to say the least! There’s going to be mistakes, but even if I crash and burn and continuously forget to play the next track, it’s going to be worth it… not just for my own growth, but because it’s in support of such an incredible cause.
Cancer affects everyone in some way. Sadly it touches the lives of people we love and know, my own family included. And for some of us, it may even be something we have to tackle ourselves. That’s why Macmillan’s fight against cancer is so vital, they are providing care, support, and hope to those fighting cancer and to their loved ones.
If you are able to help support Macmillan in it’s fight, big or small, every little helps. Together we can make a change.🙏
