Story
From 9am Saturday 21 December I'll be commencing the 4 x 4 x 48 challenge to raise funds for the SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity that helps support serving men and women, veterans and families in times of need.
During the 4 x 4 x 48 challenge I'll be running 4 miles every 4 hours, with the help and support (hopefully!) of the community I have at Battle Ready Performance and Training Centre.
The unfortunate facts are, when some individuals leave the Armed Forces they struggle to adjust to civilian life and find themselves on the streets, homeless and sleeping rough due to not having a community or a support network around them.
To further appreciate the unfortunate struggles they go through each and every day, I wanted to make this challenge even more difficult, so I will be basing myself in Battle Ready - where it's very cold in the winter - sleeping on the ground, with no creature comforts.
Please help me in this challenge to help a cause very close to my heart as an ex-British Army soldier - any support for this amazing cause is greatly appreciated,
Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, SSAFA continues to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. They know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, they help to enable the Forces family to thrive.
Many thanks!
