Story
I’m taking on the Junior Achievement Charity Trek in Vietnam this October and would really appreciate any support you could give. I've never done anything like this before so will need to put in the training hours to get me through.
As Volunteer Manager at Junior Achievement Isle of Man, I see first-hand the difference the charity makes by helping young people build confidence, develop life skills and prepare for the world of work.
Supported by a team of 300 volunteers, we work with more than 5,000 young people each year. I am genuinely humbled by the time and effort that our volunteers give up to support the charity and as such I'd like to do my own bit to support our work.
As part of my fundraising effort, I’ll also be taking part in the Ramsey Half Marathon on 9 August, just to give myself an extra challenge and to help with the trek training.
If you know me, you’ll know that a half marathon doesn’t come easily! Yes I like to run, but that generally extends to a gentle 30 minute jog once or twice a week, so it’ll take plenty of training to get my distance up (and probably a few sore legs).
If you’re able to support me with a donation—large or small—I would be incredibly grateful. Every pound raised will help Junior Achievement to support young people on the island with the skills and confidence they need for the future.
Thank you so much for your support. It really does mean a great deal.
