Jay's fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy UK

London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
I’m running the London marathon in memory of my sister Lauren who passed away after her battle with mental health and also to raise funds for the amazing charity Muscular Dystrophy UK.
I decided to compete in the London marathon after my own personal injuries of breaking my back and having surgery on my neck, and needing something challenging to motivate me to get back into fitness and train for a big achievement. Since I started running I have loved it and enjoy being out and about challenging myself. I have picked up injuries along the way such as fracturing both ankles, but that'll all be worth it once I cross the finish line and raise money for charity!
The charity I am running for is Muscular Dystrophy UK whose purpose is to support the 111,000 people and their families living with muscular wasting conditions, fund new and existing research, work alongside healthcare professionals to make access to treatments better whilst also campaigning for people's rights, better understanding, accessibility and treatments. They are making a difference, providing vital information and support to help people live as independently as possible.
