In January of this year my mum was diagnosed with cancer. This was news that shocked our family and left us fearing for the worst. She underwent treatment at The Christie hospital in Manchester and the experience there immediately helped to put us at ease.

The treatment was well organised and the hospital even arranged travel there and back for my mum due to her being too unwell to drive . The staff were warm, welcoming and always helpful.

I am shaving my head to raise money for The Christie to try give back just a little in exchange for the enormous amount of comfort and hope they have given us this year.
