Story
Over my 13 years at The Pituitary Foundation I have taken on all sorts of challenges from Marathons to zip wires, Skydives to Firewalks, climbed all of the largest mountains in the UK on multiple occasions, ran countless Half Marathons and so much more.
Every April I used to love participating in the London Landmarks Half Marathon with the team of amazing #TeamPituitary runners but sadly my mobility is now very poor as I suffer from Osteoarthritis in both of my knees and my right foot as well as sciatica of the back (I'm like a 40 something with the ailments of someone much, much older sadly due to all the exertions in my younger days). I struggle to walk, let alone run at times. But I wanted to take part in the charities 'Move Your Way' campaign and so I will be swimming the equivalent of a half marathon in my local pool.
I am a very weak swimmer and so this will be a huge challenge for me. For context it will be:
13.1 miles which equals
21,097 metres
That's 844 lengths in my local 25M pool.
Absolutely anything you can spare really will be greatly appreciated by both me and the charity
