I am raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. My dad had to have emergency open heart surgery last year after finding out after a routine check up that he had two blocked arteries. The doctors said he could have been just a few months away from a fatal heart attack or stroke.

We were fortunate that the blockages were found in time and after a double heart bypass, my dad was out of hospital just in time for my brother's wedding. Sadly, not everyone is so lucky.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but still, every day, hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like you and me that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
