Hello and thank you for taking the time to read my story.

In celebration of being 69 and my 70th year on this planet, I decided that I wanted to do something meaningful and give back to the world. Particularly after being diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2023 and a mastectomy in the April, which has certainly made me think differently about life.

To help me achieve this I’ve signed up as a volunteer and will be travelling to Nakuru, Kenya, as part of the "Rams in Kenya 2026" initiative. This journey is not just a personal challenge; it is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children from underprivileged backgrounds.In partnership with Derby County Community Trust and African Adventures, I will joining fellow volunteers in schools that provide free education to those who need it most. My role will vary from teaching and sports coaching to assisting with building and renovation projects. Each task we undertake will contribute to creating a brighter future for these children while allowing us to learn invaluable lessons about resilience and hope.

I would love if you could support this cause by helping me reach my fundraising target of £3,500 ( I’ve paid the £195 deposit).
