Jayne and Bushy’s Pontesbury Potter fundraiser for Severn Hospice

Jayne Smallman is raising money for Severn Hospice
In memory of Louise Bristow

Pontesbury Potter · 21 March 2026

Support our incredible walkers as they lace up their boots for the 30th anniversary of The Pontesbury Potter - taking on 13 miles of mud and mighty climbs through stunning hills and countryside all while raising vital funds for our care.

Story

So me and Claire ( aka Bushy) have signed up for this in memory of our dear friend Lou and to show our gratitude to Severn Hospice for all the care and support that she , Steve and her family received whilst in their care.

Now between us we have lost the equivalent of a very large person in weight over the last 18 months or so … so we saw it as a real challenge to celebrate that journey and to have time to reflect on how lucky we were to call her our friend.

The memory I have of walking into the hospice to see Lou with the patio doors wide open and her bed looking out onto a beautiful garden watching birds and wildlife and the sun on her smiley face will stay with me for a very long time - they are one truly amazing charity .

So … It’s 13 miles of hills people …. Will we swear ? …yes , will we question our sanity … absolutely …. Will we smile as we reflect on how blessed we and so many other's were to have had Lou in our lives? … Hell yes and some … so please donate if you can . Thankyou xx

The detail ….

Walkers and fell runners are lacing up their boots for the 30th anniversary of the Pontesbury Potter – one of Severn Hospice’s most loved and longest-running fundraising events!

It’s the Potter that’s anything but! On Saturday 21 March 2026, participants will tackle 13 muddy miles of hills, climbs and rugged terrain across the beautiful Shropshire countryside – and here’s the twist: the route remains a mystery until the day. This year, they’ll be retracing history by following a course inspired by the original 1996 route to celebrate three decades of challenge, community and care.

Make it an anniversary to remember! Your sponsorship will help Severn Hospice to continue to provide specialist care and support, free of charge, to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who are living with incurable illnesses.

They really are taking on 13 miles of meaning - and your support makes every muddy mile matter.

For every £3 the hospice spends on care, it needs to raise £2 – and all fundraising helps continue this vital work.
