Having completed all 282 Munros (registered Compleators 8042 and 8043), we have set Africa’s highest peak, Kilimanjaro at 19,340 feet/ 5,895 metres above sea level, as our next goal. When my breast surgeon mentioned doing it to raise money for charity, choosing the Beatson was a no-brainer due to my connection to the centre through my radiotherapy and volunteering.

We will set off on the Machame Route on Sunday 6 September and aim to reach the summit in 6 days, descending on Saturday 12 September.
