Remembering Jayson Alexander

Back Onside is raising money for Back Onside
In memory of Jayson Alexander
Back Onside is committed to helping young people and adults who face mental health challenges due to social exclusion, disability or challenging life circumstances. We have one aim: to promote self-confidence, raise self-esteem and unlock the potential confined within each participant.

Story

Jayson was originally from Livingston and grew up with his Mum and older brother. Jayson’s mum could never give him a telling off growing up, because he was so cute, and had an amazing way of making everyone laugh. The loveable rogue. Jayson was a very sharp witted and intelligent boy and grew up to be a motivated and driven man.

In 2010, Jayson met and fell in love with his wife Lynsey, and they welcomed their first son Charlie to the world in 2016, followed by Auggie (August) in 2018. Jayson was fiercely loyal to those close to him. He was a devoted father to his boys – everything he did in his life was for their family. They made his world go round.

Jayson was someone you could never forget. When he walked into a room he was always seen. His confidence, his humour and his charm meant that when he walked in a room you noticed him.

But sadly, when lockdown hit in 2020, Jayson lost his job, and things started to fall apart. He had chosen a career that allowed him to spend as much time as he could with his family and provide a stable income for them. But losing his job, and lockdown, created the environment for his depression to live in, and on the 20th September 2020 Jayson took his own life.

Jayson bottled up his worries for a long time and had previously struggled with depression and dark thoughts. He leaves behind his wife Lynsey, 2 beautiful boys, a loving family and friends so close they were considered family. Their lives will never be the same.

If you have stories, memories or a message to leave in Jayson’s memory, please do if you are able to leave a donation in Jason’s memory to Back Onside, which will help us support as many people as we can who are struggling with their mental health.
