Story
My new year’s resolution was to be able to run a 5k without stopping. Believe me, this was a big challenge! I never would’ve thought I’d be signing up for a half marathon with my dad in the same year! What have I let myself in for… 😂
I decided to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer because, as a young person, I wanted to help people of my age. The work they do with young people and their families is incredible and they deserve all the support we can give.
This run will be a huge challenge for me, but it is nothing compared to the challenges faced by young people with cancer, and their families.
My dad’s joining me too… if he can keep up. He thinks he’s fit because he does Hyrox - let’s see if the old man can cope with 21 kilometers rather than 8 kilometres with a few little exercises in between!

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.
At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you.
