Two Extreme Endurance Challenges for 30 Years of Care - Supporting Trinity & Brian House

Trinity Hospice and Brian House Children's Hospice provide specialist palliative care to adults and children across the Fylde Coast and much needed support for their families. Our services are available free of charge, but with limited government funding we need to raise £14 million every year.

Story

What am I doing:

UTS Snowdonia (Covering 50km and 3,400m of elevation) - Saturday 16th May 2026

42 Peaks in 24 hours (Covering 106km and 8,200m of elevation) - Tuesday 28th July 2026 (weather permitting)

Why am I doing it:

Last year, I signed up to the UTS 50km Snowdonia in aid of Trinity Hospice with the kind of confidence that can only come from not yet being injured or suffering from brief illness.

I had a plan. I had the mindset. I had trainers that looked fast even when I wasn’t. What I didn’t have, as it turned out, was a fully cooperative ankle or an immune system that shared my enthusiasm and I completed the ultra-marathon in 12h:13m:13s.

So last year wasn’t my best time, but it was my bravest time.

Because even hobbling, coughing, and questioning my life choices, I finished. And every painful step reminded me why I was doing it in the first place.

Trinity Hospice exists for people who don’t get to “try again next year.” People whose days are measured not in PBs or finish lines, but in comfort, care, dignity, and moments that still matter with loved ones. That sort of perspective sticks with you.

Which brings me to this year.

I’m doing the UTS 50km Snowdonia event again in May, and for good measure, I’m setting a further challenge to complete a 42-peak ultra marathon in the Lake District in less than 24 hours in July. I’m hoping to conquer the trail by my birthday on the 29th July, and most importantly: I aim to raise £25,000.00 for Trinity Hospice & Brian House Children’s Hospice in Blackpool.

Every donation, message, and bit of encouragement helps Trinity Hospice & Brian House Children’s Hospice continue doing the quiet, extraordinary work that truly changes lives. Please give generously, and if you’ve ever wanted to see me in pain (which I definitely will be completing these challenges), then that has to be worth a donation to such a worthy cause, no?

Thank you for your support, for a cause very close to my heart. Wish me luck!

Best,

JC.
