Climbing Mount Toubkal · 3 June 2025

The Chiltern Centre provides bespoke, individualised care to young people with learning disabilities. It gives them opportunities to socialise, learn new skill, move towards greater independence and have fun. All the while it provides their families with a much needed break from their caring role.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Read on to find out more about why I'm asking for your help.

What?

Trekking to the top of Mount Toubkal which, at > 4,000m, is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, along with a group of my (much younger) colleagues!

Why?

To raise money for a wonderful charity, The Chiltern Centre, who provide amazing care and support to disabled young people aged 16-30. The Centre is just round the corner from me and need to raise £200,000 every year to keep up their fantastic work. Read more about them here:

Am I serious?

Yup! As you probably know, I'm a keen walker and enjoy the outdoors but have I ever done anything as challenging as this? Nope! I'll be the oldest, the fattest, the most frightened of heights and probably the slowest member of the trek so please, please, if you can spare a few quid, send it this way to motivate me even further to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Thank you so much xxx
