Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Pancreatic Cancer has one of the lowest survival rates of any cancer, just 3%, as it hides itself in the body until its too late. The causes are still not understood. The only way to defeat it is through research which requires funding.
My husband Neil, died in 2012, only three months after diagnonsis. He was a university professor, actively involved in research right up to the end.
Sadly, he was not the first member of my family to succumb to it. Previously my Aunt Mary and her son Ian, my cousin also died. Since then I've lost my brother, David and during the pandemic, my cousin Nicky's husband Mick also died. In total that is FIVE close members of my family.
It is for this reason that along with three very good friends, Joan, Ian and Sue I'm walking along the Pilgrim Way from Rochester to Canterbury.
The only way to defeat this terrible disease is by research, so please suffort us by sponsoring us.The proceeds will go to Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund,
Thank you
Jean, Joan, Ian and Sue.
