Story

*** Read all the way to the terrible joke at the end ***

50+1 years old and running my 50th marathon to raise valuable funds for a beautiful charity!

Thank you so much for reading, and hopefully supporting me on my current fundraising quest as I reach the epic milestone of 50 marathons - MADNESS! Those of you who knew me prior to 2014, when I started running, will be as shocked to read these words as I am to be writing them. If I can run a marathon, then truly anyone can. Running has changed my life for the better, unimaginably so, and running to raise funds for charity can change the lives of so many others. From running a multi-day ultra in the Sahara desert to 4,000+ laps of my living room in Madrid during Covid, the satisfaction and pride I get from finishing a charity marathon is like no other feeling. Thank you for helping me reach my goal - I am so grateful!

Blood Cancer UK is a charity that is very close to my heart. Mum has worked tirelessly for them in her local community for over 30 years, and their work has saved thousands of lives, many of them children. Where previously only 1 in 10 children might have survived the initial diagnosis, now 9 in 10 can survive 10 years.

Thank you for your support, I truly appreciate it!

*** TERRIBLE JOKE BELOW ***

WHY DON'T OYSTERS GIVE TO CHARITY? BECAUSE THEY'RE SHELLFISH... ba-dum-tsss.

Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
