Story
I’m doing something completely out of my comfort zone… a skydive.
If you know me, you’ll know this is something I would never usually do — I can barely go down a water slide without overthinking it. But this isn’t about fear, it’s about purpose.
I’m raising money for Sophie’s Legacy, a charity that supports families with seriously ill children in hospital — a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
My daughter Sofia was born following a uterine rupture and diagnosed with Grade 3 HIE. We spent a long time in NICU, navigating life between hospital and home, while also caring for Mahli. It was one of the hardest periods of our lives — emotionally, physically, and mentally.
During that time, Sophie’s Legacy were there for us in ways I’ll never be able to fully put into words. They brought comfort in the darkest moments, supported us mentally, and gave us things we will cherish forever. They made an unbearable situation feel just that little bit more manageable.
This charity means everything to families like ours. And now, I want to give something back.
So I’m facing one of my biggest fears and jumping out of a plane — all to raise money to help them continue the incredible work they do for other families going through similar journeys.
every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. Thank you so much for supporting us, supporting Sofia & Mahli, and supporting such a special cause.
Let’s do something amazing together 🤍
Sophie’s legacy:
Sophie was a 10 year old child who was determined to make a difference before she died. She wrote a bucket list of things she wanted changed in her memory. The list was to improve the experience for families admitted to hospital with their children as well as improving outcomes for children with cancer. Sophie's Legacy charity was set up following Sophies death. We support families in hospital by providing food, toiletries, clothes, transport, birthday parties, etc. We currently cover 12 hospitals supporting hundreds of families every single week. We also advocate at a national level with the government and NHS to improve play, food for children and parents being fed. We are also advocating for improvements for children diagnosed with cancer. Together we will make change.
