At the start of this year, I had a health scare that landed me in hospital. It wasn't something I saw coming, and honestly, it shook me. But lying in that hospital bed, surrounded by incredible nurses and carers, I saw first-hand what compassionate care really means: not just the medical side, but the kindness, the reassurance, and the dignity that comes with it.

That experience changed something in me. I wanted to do something meaningful, something that pushed me and gave back at the same time. So I signed up to run the Berlin Marathon on 27 September 2026. My first ever marathon. If you'd told me a year ago I'd be doing this, I would have laughed.

I'm running for Marie Curie, a charity that provides free palliative and end of life care in people's homes and hospices across the UK. They make sure that when families are going through the hardest time of their lives, expert and compassionate care is there for them.

Every pound donated makes a real difference - just £20 could help pay for two hours of nursing care for someone living with a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home.
