MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) is a national, charitable organization that is committed to stopping impaired driving and supporting the victims of this violent crime. With volunteer-driven groups in close to 100 communities across Canada, MADD Canada aims to offer support services to victims, heighten awareness of the dangers of impaired driving and save lives and prevent injuries on our roads. Each and every year, thousands of Canadians are killed or injured in impaired driving crashes. Driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs is a terrible crime that touches all our lives. It is an irresponsible, dangerous and intolerable act. MADD Canada strives to offer support services to victims/survivors and their families and friends, heighten awareness about the dangers of alcohol and/or drug-impaired driving, and to save lives and prevent injuries on our roads. At the heart of MADD Canada are our volunteers; they include not only mothers, but fathers, friends, business professionals, experts in the anti-impaired driving field and concerned citizens who want to make a difference in the fight against impaired driving. If you need help, or would like to join MADD Canada’s efforts, call our toll free line at 1-800-665-6233.

Story

In 2018, my life was forever changed when my brother Scott and niece Leaira were tragically killed in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. The loss was devastating, and in the midst of overwhelming grief, MADD Canada stepped in with incredible support.

MADD Canada not only provided guidance during that difficult time, but they also welcomed myself, my wife, and parents to their national conference. The experience was incredibly healing for all of us, as they connected us with others who had faced similar tragedies and we found comfort in the shared sense of community.

MADD Canada also honored Scott and Leaira by including their names on a beautiful memorial monument, ensuring their memory will continue on.

Through this charity event, I want to give back to MADD Canada, an organization that showed me and my family such compassion and continue to help us honor Scott and Leaira’s memory. Participating in this event is not just about raising funds, but about expressing deep gratitude for the love and support MADD Canada provided when I needed it most.
