On Sunday 18th February 2024 to Wednesday 6th of March 2024, Jeff, Esther and Elsie’s Grandad and BDGH Volunteer, will walk an average of 10 miles a day, covering 180 miles over 18 days.

Esther was born a healthy little girl on the 18th of February 2018. On the 4th of March 2018, she was admitted to Barnsley A&E and then to Sheffield Children’s Hospital with a Strep B meningitis infection. 2 days later, Esther sadly passed away.

On the 6th of February 2019, Elsie Grace was born. She was cared for in the first 2 weeks by the specialist Neo-natal care unit at Barnsley Hospital before being discharged home.

1 year to the day of Esther’s passing, Elsie was admitted to Barnsley A&E and then the Children’s Ward with a Strep B infection. Under the care of the Doctors and Nurses, Elsie made a full recovery and is now a healthy 5-year-old.

Money raised will be donated to Barnsley Hospital Neo Natal care unit and Children’s ward.
