Story
Every child deserves to dance.
This November, I’m running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon for the National Dance Institute.
NDI was founded on a simple but radical belief: that the arts have a unique power to inspire every person to unlock their own potential. Its founder, Jacques d’Amboise, grew up in a low-income family in Washington Heights before going on to become a star dancer with the New York City Ballet. He understood the transformative power of the arts firsthand — and in 1976, he committed his life to extending that opportunity to New York’s young people.
NDI came to our daughter’s elementary school and offered their program to the kids. She fell in love with it. One thing led to another, and NDI offered her a scholarship to join their Celebration Team. Watching her perform, seeing what she was capable of, the confidence and joy she found — it’s been one of the most unexpected and beautiful things about raising her in this city. It’s an incredible community to be a part of and we are deeply grateful for it.
NDI brings that experience to thousands of New York City kids every year, free of charge, because they believe the arts belong to everyone. That’s a cause I’m proud to get behind — and why I’ll be running 26.2 miles to support it.
Your support--whatever the amount--puts a kid on that stage who might never have had the chance. Let's give them that moment together.
