Walking 100km in August
Jeffrey Long MBE, former para, is heading out on another epic walking challenge, covering 100km this August in aid of Bowel Cancer UK and Blood Cancer UK.
Jeffrey aged 92 years this October, will be walking everyday to raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms, so more people can be diagnosed earlier and help to stop bowel cancer.
Jeffrey has raised approx. £400k from his previous fundraising challenges since 2007, which is a phenomenal achievement, and he is looking to raise further funds for Bowel Cancer UK from this challenge, alongside Blood Cancer UK. Any donations are very greatly received.
For the last 5 years, Jeffrey has been receiving daily chemo for cancer, which he has to continue to undertake for rest of the life.
Jeffrey is also walking with a back injury he sustained in 1954 when his parachute malfunctioned and he fell several hundred of feet to the ground, severely injuring himself. He now walks with a limp and a walking stick which aggravates his back, restricting how many miles he can achieve per day.
Walking 100km is a huge challenge and any support is greatly received.
