Story
Hi! On the 26th September our team is going to be swimming relay for 24 hours at Alderford Lake.
One out, one in, for 24 hours. I'm expecting to swim a minimum of four hours over the day - I can't wait!
I've been training by visiting Whitmore Lakes with the teamies and using their 500m circuit training pool to really wrack up those hours and get used to swimming multiple hours at a time. I've also been getting in some early mornings and late night lane swimming sessions at the local leisure centre.
Before this year I was genuinely very scared of swimming in open water...and things touching me in the water...Happy to say Ive been swimming without a wetsuit and without shoes, although that will change for September temperatures...I've used this as an opportunity to enrich my own life experiences too :)
This is for a great charity that provides swimming lessons for disabled children - a taken for granted activity that can help with fun, enjoyment, enrichment, enhanced mobility, and many other things...
Every £15 you donate funds one life-changing lesson.
We really appreciate any donation - thank you <3
