Tyne Bridges to Boundaries Ultra · 15 March 2025

We’re leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. We’re here to make sure children and young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties. Join our fight.

Story

At YoungMinds, we believe that every child and young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, even in the face of life's challenges. As the UK's leading charity dedicated to championing mental health and wellbeing, we understand that many young individuals struggle silently with their emotions and experiences.

Turning 30 this year made me reflect on a lot of things. Having struggled with my mental health as a teenager and young adult, YoungMinds is a charity that is very close to my heart. 30 is a big milestone and and I wanted to celebrate this in a unique way. I have decided to challenge myself in a way I never have before. So I came up with the crazy idea that I would run 30 miles for my 30 years on earth. This lead me to booking the 'Tyne Bridges to Boundaries Ultra', which is 35 miles! So on 15 March 2025 (leaving myself only 6 weeks to train from the time of booking), I will be attempting to run my first ever Ultra marathon. I am both terrified and excited to enter the unknown and see what my body and mind are capable of.

It is a personal journey for me, but it is also a vital step towards raising awareness and funds for YoungMinds Trust. With a target of £500, I aim to contribute to the incredible work they do in supporting children and young people who need help navigating their mental health journeys.

Please support me on this mission. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those children who feel lost or overwhelmed. Together, we can ensure that every child knows they are not alone and that help is always within reach.
