Bail me out! I've been locked up for Maggie's Swansea

Jemma Merrell is raising money for Maggie's Centres

Unlock the Leaders for Maggie's in Swansea · 3 October 2025 ·

8 business leaders and influencers have been found guilty of outrageous charges and locked up for Maggie's in Swansea. With only a phone, laptop and their powers of persuasion, they now need your help to raise funds to pay their bail and escape jail.

Story

I am one of seven local Business leaders and influencers who have been put behind bars for Maggie's. I've been found guilty of “borrowing” chocolate from other people, colleagues drawers and friends Chocolate cupboards and not replacing it. For this terrible crime, I have been sent down with bail set at a minimum of £1,000.

With only my phone, laptop and my powers of persuasion, I need your help to raise funds to pay bail and escape jail!

Because no one should face cancer alone. 💛

I am taking on Jail or Bail to raise money for Maggie’s, a charity that provides free practical, emotional, and psychological support to people living with cancer and their families.

Maggie's is a misunderstood resource for our City which delivers to everyone in need at the most terrible times of their lives and also their family members. It is not NHS funded and we do anything we can to assist with fundraising. Myself and my colleague Claire Davies organise an annual Ladies Day to support the Centre and have done so for the last 14 years after losing friends and family members to this awful disease. I hope I get out of jail or there will be No Ladies Day!!!!! The Butlers in the Buff will be so disappointed.
