Story
This Sunday 21st June I'm lacing up my guddies and hitting the pavement to run the Belfast City Women's 10K to raise funds for Open Arts — a charity that provides high‑quality creative classes for disabled adults across Belfast.
Every week participants take part in dance, drama, visual art, music, and creative writing in a supportive, inclusive environment where creativity and confidence can flourish. Managing our core programme I see first hand how these classes make a real difference: they reduce isolation, build skills, and give disabled people a space to express themselves and feel part of a vibrant artistic family. Don't take my word for it, here's a quote from one of our participants.
If you're thinking about joining Open Arts art classes, I would say go for it with gusto and embrace it, learn from everyone, there's no pressure to perform. It is a safe space where people with disabilities are valued. You can develop your abilities and make new friends. It is great!
Every pound raised will help Open Arts continue to provide opportunities to disabled people to express themselves, grow artistically, and share their talents with the world.
Open Arts' mission is to inspire and support the creativity and artistic development of disabled people, and I'm proud to be part of that journey.
