Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.

It had already been my intention to attempt a Hyrox race but, if I’m honest, I had been dragging my heels (pardon the pun) in trepidation of the gruelling event. However when I discovered that in London the open Women’s division could be completed as a MacMillan fundraiser, it occurred to me that maybe fate was trying to tell me something.

I was devastated to learn earlier this year that my lovely friend Annie Sawle was being cared for, by MacMillan, following a shock diagnosis of metastatic liver and pancreatic cancer. Sadly Annie passed away just 6 weeks later. Like so many I was no stranger to the cruelty of this disease (with my father passing away from pancreatic cancer 9 years ago) so come November I shall be racing for the incredible organisation that cared for Annie and so many more. I will also be remembering my lovely dad, who was himself an athlete and would have loved to see me competing in a hyrox!
