Me, and a whole bunch of family and friends, are raising money for Breast Cancer Now, with a 20 mile walk around Blenheim and the Cotswolds. This is - for me - a pretty long walk, and I would be so grateful for any money you can contribute to this awesome charity.

Some of you might know that my cousin Katy (official leader of the Famous Four) was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, at the age of 38. After undergoing surgery and radiotherapy, Katy is now on hormone treatment to prevent future reoccurrence.

Katy lost both her parents to cancer too: Aunty Pauline and Uncle Bob. Like so many of us, cancer has shaped the life we live.

One thing that in Katy’s words truly helped her was attending a free two-day Moving Forward Course run by Breast Cancer Now. There, she met 14 other women who had been through similar experiences, providing her with much-needed alternative perspectives.

Breast Cancer Now also conducts vital research into causes and treatments, funding initiatives like the Oncotype test which Katy benefitted from to assess the need for chemotherapy. Their website is a fantastic resource filled with forums where people can talk and find support.
