Inverurie Community Recovery is a growing movement of people who believe in recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol.

Story

At Inverurie Community Recovery (ICR), we believe that recovery is possible and that no one should have to face it alone. We are a charity-run support group for people living with an unhealthy relationship with alcohol or drugs, as well as those experiencing mental health challenges. Every Tuesday evening, we offer a hybrid meeting, allowing people to join us either in person or online, where they can share their experiences, challenges, and achievements in a safe, welcoming, and confidential environment. The sense of connection, understanding, and hope that comes from supporting one another is at the heart of everything we do. While we always protect the anonymity of our members, we are passionate about challenging the stigma surrounding addiction and mental health by showing that recovery is not only possible - it happens every day.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports Inverurie Community Recovery, especially those who generously organise fundraising events on our behalf. As a small local charity, every pound raised helps us continue providing a safe place for people to recover, build meaningful social connections, promote our group within the wider community, and reach those who may not yet know that support is available. Your kindness helps us offer hope where it is needed most and reminds people that they never have to face recovery alone. Thank you for supporting our fundraiser and for helping us continue to share one simple but powerful message: "We do and can recover".
