Story
In 2024 I (Jen) was lucky enough to go to Nepal and with the generous donations you all gave, helped to build a Vocational School in one of the poorest provinces of Nepal - Dhangadhi. This was a life changing trip for me and I am very excited that this year I’m able to head back to Nepal and will be taking on the Everest Base Camp trek to raise vital funds that will help to double the number of students who can attend the Vocational Schools in Nepal, giving young people the opportunity to learn a trade, earn a living with dignity and build a future in their own country.
Rach is joining me in the fundraising this year by completing a grueling 114km trek across the Camino Way in March 2026. We are fundraising as a team and every penny raised will go towards Supporting Nepal's Children.
In a place where the average income is just US$2 a day and opportunities are scarce; this school will offer a life-changing pathway out of poverty.
"This is about a hand up, NOT a hand out".
What will your donation will help towards:
£10 – Equip a Student for a Day
• Essential materials for practical training (wood, metal, fabric, wiring, beauty supplies)
• A nutritious daily meal for a trainee
• Printed study sheets and safety guides
£20 – Give a Week of Learning
• A full week of vocational tuition for one young person
• Workshop consumables (carpentry blades, welding rods, sewing needles, etc.)
• Support for classroom utilities and teaching continuity
£50 – Put Tools in Their Hands
• A starter toolkit for trainees in construction, metalwork, electrical, plumbing or beauty
• Maintenance parts for workshop machinery
£100 – Support a Month of Training
• One month of tuition and workshop materials
• Safety equipment (helmets, gloves, boots, goggles, aprons)
• Support for transport that brings students from remote communities
Supporting Nepal’s Children has already built two vocational schools, with over 1,400 graduated into stable employment. With your help, we aim to double their capacity, giving thousands more young people the chance to build a secure and hopeful future.
We are incredibly lucky that both of our trips are being fully funded by Pentelow Wealth Management so every single donation will go directly to the charity.
Plus, every pound raised by fundraisers directly connected with St. James’s Place will be matched by the business and used to support UK charity Jamie’s Farm.
