Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you are aware, my good friend Cat was taken from us on December 13th 2023. In her final months, Compton Care provided both her and her family with support in many different forms, and they are continuing to provide opportunities for her family as they move forward without her. Cat's youngest children, both students of mine and how I came to be friends with Cat, will both be part of the concert in their own ways to pay tribute to her.
Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for Compton Care to ensure they are able to continue working with patients and families in the ways we have seen. Here is some information from Compton on how donations are used:
-> A donation of £10 could pay for art materials for bereaved children to make a memory box.
-> A donation of £10 could provide fans for patients to support them to manage their condition in our Breathlessness Clinic.
-> A donation of £25 could pay towards an art therapist for one hour, facilitating expression of emotions and experiences through art, helping children to communicate issues they may find confusing or hard to put into words.
-> A donation of £50 could pay for a bereavement support session to help a family member cope with the loss of a loved one.
-> A donation of £100 could enable a nurse to make a home visit to a patient, helping them to manage their symptoms and coordinating their care.
-> A donation of £201 could contribute towards a 10-hour night sitting session in a patient’s home from our Night Service team. These sessions are offered to ensure a patient receives expert care and support in the comfort of their own home and relatives can rest during the night, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is in good hands.
-> A donation of £476 could contribute towards the running costs of our Physiotherapy service for a week. The team of specialists help to empower patients to live independently for as long as possible, providing expert advice around mobility issues, breathlessness, fatigue and anxiety management.
