Campaign by Young Lives vs Cancer (RCN 1107328 and SC039857)
Take on 80 miles your way throughout September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. On average families face an 80 mile round trip to get to treatment.

Story

I'm taking on Challenge 80 this September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 80 miles, 30 days.

Young cancer patients face an 80 mile round trip, on average, to get treatment. This isn't by choice. Many young cancer patients have to travel to specialist cancer centres to get the care they need, they can't just go to their local hospital.

Not only is this physically and emotionally exhausting, it comes it a huge financial cost too. It costs £250 a month when treatment is at its most intense. As treatment can go on for years, young people and families are often plunged into debt.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month I'm covering 80 miles to help raise money to support young people with cancer.
