Beat SCAD is a patient-led charity dedicated to raising awareness of the under-diagnosed heart condition Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD), supporting people affected by SCAD, and raising funds for research.

Story

Why...

Recently, I had a bit of a wake-up call when one of my clients had a heart attack caused by something called Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) - an under-diagnosed and poorly understood heart condition.

Thankfully, she is on the mend, recovering well, and getting back to her usual self, however the future is still a little uncertain. The lack of specific guidance provided by the hospital and subsequent months of waiting to see both cardio rehab teams and a specialist have been hugely stressful.

Beat SCAD was the only organisation offering tailored and personal support: for that, the family are truly grateful.

Raising money for Beat SCAD will help more research into the condition and continue to educate medical professionals and support SCAD survivors.

So in order to help, I accepted the challenge to raise a minimum of £300 for Beat SCAD by taking part in Brighton Marathon.

The catch? I’ve only got until April 6th to do it!

Every little bit helps – whether it’s a few squid or just sharing this page. It’s all about spreading the word and supporting a cause which can help to save and improve lives!

Fancy helping me reach my goal?

Let’s do this for Beat SCAD!
