Story

In August I will be fundraising for PAPYRUS, the national charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. I have set myself 2 challenges to complete within a week. On the 17th of August I will be doing the Scottish Half Marathon and on the 22nd of August I will be doing The 3 Peak Challenge, climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England then Wales, back to back within 24 hours. The furthest I have ever ran is 5km, so this will be a huge challenge for me to train for and complete in 17 weeks.

I am so grateful and lucky that Cohen and Murphy have been there everyday, to get me up and out, and a reason why I want to take on this challenge of walking/running, as this was a lifeline for me. Those closest to me know how much personally I’ve struggled. You really have no idea what a person is going through each day and the battles they are facing, how tough it can be just to get out of bed, function or face the world.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people take their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.

Every £15 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are changing lives, thank you.
