Story
On the 18th April I'm taking on 26.2 miles at the Manchester Marathon to raise vital funds for Place2Be—a charity that is deeply close to my heart.
This cause is incredibly personal to me. Growing up, I struggled with my mental health completely on my own. Looking back, I know that if I had received the right support and early intervention during my childhood, my life would look very different today. Navigating those dark spaces without a safety net was a massive challenge, and it’s something I don't want other children to go through.
Now, as a parent, breaking that cycle is my absolute priority. I want my children to grow up in a world where mental health is openly talked about and where support is always there when they need it. This mission became even more urgent when my son was diagnosed with ADHD. His neurodiversity heavily impacts his daily mental health, and watching him navigate those extra hurdles drives my passion to make a real difference. No child or family should ever have to suffer alone.
Training for a marathon is going to test me to my absolute limits, but the temporary physical pain of 26.2 miles is nothing compared to the daily, unseen battles that children face when struggling with their mental health.
How your donation helps:
Place2Be works directly in schools to provide life-changing mental health support, counseling, and guidance to children, young people, and their families right when they need it most.
Every single pound you donate will keep me going through the long, grueling miles of training and will directly help provide a brighter, safer future for a child. Please donate whatever you can to support this incredible cause.
Thank you so much for your support! Let's do this!
