Story
I will be running The Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise funds and awareness for Saint Michael's Hospice.
The hospice does hugely valuable work and few people in Harrogate have been untouched by its work. The team cared for both my father and my uncle with compassion and supported the family through our loss.
It's a critical part of the care landscape in Harrogate and does amazing work. I have volunteered with them for a number of years and want their work to be able to continue, which is why, this year, I'm committed to raising funds for them across three events, the Great North Run being by far the most challenging for me.
I'm not a fast runner. I've only done one half marathon before, but I'm determined to raise as much as possible for this very worthwhile cause.
Your donation will help Saint Michael's support local families living with terminal illness and bereavement across the Harrogate district and I very much appreciate any support you can provide. Even a small donation helps to make someone's life more comfortable, or helps someone who has been bereaved to gain access to the help they need to rebuild their life without their loved one in it.
