My friend Helen and I heard about the FireWalk and we were wondering if we were brave/mad enough to do it. After deliberating it too much it was an easy choice to sign on, as it is a charity that is close to our heart from a loved ones we have both personally lost to cancer.
We are dedicating the FireWalk and raising money for St Giles's hospice Whittington in memory of Zoe Yates, who sadly lost her battle to cancer on the 6th July this year at the age of 41. Zoe was cared for at St Giles hospice in Whittington. Zoe was a kind and caring person who leaves behind her loving husband Paul and her eight year old son Ethan who is in the same year at school as our sons.
The hospice at Whittington helped Zoe and her family in her last few weeks and continue to support her family. Please support us on this special fundraising event to raise money to enable St Giles to provide the best care and support for others in a similar situation.
Helen and myself will be among other supporters across our community who are braving the FireWalk Challenge on Saturday 26th October and pledging to raise an amount of money to support their local hospice.
Every penny raised will help fund vital care for local people, and their loved ones, living in our local area.
