Team: Outliers 240 mile ride in under 24 hours for MNDA

240 km cycle challenge in 24 hours · 6 September 2026

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

The Outliers are a group of cycling friends based in the Sudbury area of Suffolk. We had planned a bike ride challenge in aid of Motor Neurone Disease but tragically our dear friend Ian Simpson was hit by a vehicle on a training ride and died. Whilst trying to come to terms with the loss of our friend we are still attempting to honour his fund raising ambition with a 240km route. We are going to ride 240 km together in memory of Ian, supporting each other and raising much needed funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association.

We invite you to support this cause by contributing generously to the MNDA. Your donations will help provide vital resources for those living with MND—an affliction that affects over 5,000 people across the UK at any given time. Together, we can make a difference! Let’s help MNDA continue their essential work and bring hope to those who need it most.
