Story

I'm running the 2026 London Marathon in memory of my brother, Tom Brockman, who tragically ended his life in February last year. (Yes I know I’m crazy!)

Tom was one of the kindest, funniest, and most caring people you could ever meet. His friends and family meant the world to him and he was always the life and soul of a party.

When Tom passed away he asked us to raise awareness around mental health and the support that’s out there for others. And I knew I wanted to do something BIG in his honour.

London held a special place in Tom’s heart. Every landmark along the marathon route holds a special memory or funny story with Tom so I applied for the marathon back in April and I told myself if I get a place, it's meant to be.

To my complete surprise (and slight panic!), I was selected by Mind to run as one of their official charity runners, and to help raise awareness by sharing Tom’s story.

The truth is, you never really know what someone else might be going through and it's not always easy to speak up and reach out.

So please check in on your friends and family. And if you are struggling, know that you are not alone. Help is out there, and you deserve support.

Mind is an amazing charity that offers vital help to people facing mental health challenges, as well as resources for loved ones trying to support someone going through a tough time.

I've never run more than 10k before, so this marathon is going to be a massive challenge but I am determined to do Tom proud.

Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to me and will help keep me going through the training and the 26.2 miles ahead.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. Please scroll down to learn more about the life-changing work that Mind does 💜
