I am taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Dementia UK thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dementia is a cruel and unrelenting disease, which overtime gradually strips people of their ability to function and interact with loved ones and those around them. Those who have had people in their lives affected by dementia will understand the profound effects the disease has, and how extremely sad it can be. Not only will the individual's live be changed forever, but those who care for them will also be affected, mentally and emotionally. That's why I have chosen to run the Half-Marathon to help raise money for Dementia UK, allowing them to continue to help provide free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
