Story

Thank you for clicking onto my page!!

IIn April 2012 we lost my dad after a short battle with cancer. Those who knew him knew how funny he was, he loved teasing people and making people laugh. He was the most loyal, loving man who loved his music, piano playing and fishing and most of all his cups of tea!!

We were devastated in Feb 2012 when we found out he wasn't going to be in our lives for much longer, and he was placed on palliative care from home and trinity hospice. Trinity managed his pain relief and for that we were truly grateful. Our large lovely family and friends were all able to come see him and spend time with him and the staff were so accommodating and friendly, it felt like we were at home.

I started running after losing my dad and after giving birth to my 2nd daughter in 2014. I just wanted to get fit but with friends influencing me I entered races and quite quickly decided I wanted to run the iconic London Marathon, so in 2015 I entered the ballot......and thereafter every year I have done the same thing and always received the rejection email. This year I decided to commit to applying for a charity spot running for Trinity in memory of my lovely dad and I didn't really think I would get that, but the day before my 43rd birthday I had a phone call to tell me I had finally gained a place...I cried!!!! For 10 years I have avidly watched the marathon on TV supporting everyone I knew who was running it and I still dreamed of being there doing it for dad and I finally have the chance now to do it. I am running the LONDON MARATHON!!!!

This is a massive commitment and one I want to fully commit to, to make my family and friends proud.

The support I have already been shown has blown me away, I know I am one of the luckiest people to have the people I have in my life, and I can't wait to come up with all sorts of fundraising plans so watch this space.

If you can spare a £ please sponsor me for this amazing cause that means so much to people in the worst times of their lives.

If you also fancy a trip to London on Sunday 26th April 2026 then please feel free to give me a cheer, I know for a fact that it's the people cheering you on, that get you through it, and I am so grateful to my wonderful family and friends who have already booked their hotels to come and support me.

Thank you so so much from the bottom of my heart and from my Dad...Ray (Grey Ray) 🥰 xxxxxxxxx
