We help amputee families every day to face the trauma & challenges they endure

Story

Hi. Thanks for joining my page. Here’s the deal: I’m walking the length of long-distance footpath Offa’s Dyke to raise money for the charity Steel Bones, which supports civilian amputees and their families in England. There, it’s simple.

And the numbers represent?

Offa’s Dyke is 177 miles (285 Km) long, running from Prestatyn in north Wales, down the English/Welsh border, to Chepstow in the south.

I’m hoping to cover a distance of 200 miles (which includes getting to and from accommodation along the way) in 11 days.

Why am I raising money for this charity?

My husband Forbes is one of an estimated 45,000 people in England who cope with life following a medical amputation. He now volunteers for Steel Bones, as they assist new amputees with practical advice, mentoring and often much- needed companionship.

I’m hoping to raise £1,500.

And 63? I’ll leave you to guess what that represents!

Thank you for your support.
