The last 6 months has been a bit of a personal battle I was diagnosed with right renal carcinoma and metastases to left breast in May 2025. Since then I have had an amazing team behind me and had both my right kidney removed and a left breast mastectomy. As I recovered from my operations and following a follow up CT scan I was unfortunately diagnosed as having terminal cancer. The kidney cancer had again metastasised to my lymph nodes, lungs and other areas . This has made me even more determined to help stop this happening to others. Those of you who know me know I love a good cause and a cold water dook and a good laugh 💙🥶💙

My personal experience helped me decide which charity to support this year. When we thought I had breast cancer everything was so clear and decisive, there was a huge amount of information, support and treatment possibilities and the way forward was very clear. However once the biopsies came back with kidney cancer cells things got blurry, there was less information, less treatment options and less research being done. This made my decision pretty easy I want to raise money to help with kidney cancer research moving forward to help others hopefully have a clearer pathway to recovery.

Update: I have completed the 30 dooks in September and during this time was contacted by comedian Rab Malheron offering his time for free for a charity comedy night…
