Jen's fundraiser for Willen Hospice

7 marathons in 7 days · 10 March 2025
In April 2024, I lost a very dear friend who was my running buddy, my listening ear and a good all round smashing guy. I miss him terribly but I still laugh every time I see a pair of short running shorts, people wearing bright clothing with matching running shoes or a goose honking on Willen lake, which terrified him!
Maff was always up for a running challenge and we did a fair few together including his first ultra which a few of us had to drag him round the last few miles on. He was a fit and fun loving guy who just loved life
So I've decided to do a challenge in Maff's memory, something I've not done before...
And the great thing is, it will be running around Willen Lake for the first 3 days, starting on 10th March. I will be running around the lake in circles, and past where Maff spent time in the wonderful Willen Hospice who were simply amazing in supporting Maff and his family. I'll then go on to do 4 marathons around Caldecotte lake.
Willen Hospice’s care touches thousands of local people every year.
They give comfort, ease pain and reduce anxiety for patients and their loved ones. Every pound you give makes a difference - as it enables them to do more for more people across Milton Keynes when and where they need them, including the care through 'Willen at Home'. Willen Hospice receive less than a quarter of their funding from the NHS, which means the rest is donated or fundraised for by amazing local people.
Which is why your support is so important and so appreciated – thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
