Story
In April, I’ll be turning 50 — and running my very first marathon.
The London Marathon is something I’ve watched for years, always thinking, “One day, I’d love to do that.” This year I was lucky enough to get a place to run for Sense and I am excited and a bit nervous about the road ahead!

It’s a huge personal challenge. The furthest I’ve ever run before is 10k so 26.2 miles feels daunting — but I’m committed and currently pounding the pavements of Chester in preparation!
I’m running to raise money for Sense, a charity for people with combined sensory and complex disabilities that believes no one should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.
Sense provides personalised support through centres, holidays and short breaks, in family homes, and throughout every stage of life — from early childhood through adulthood.
This cause is incredibly close to our hearts.
Our eldest daughter, Megan, has complex learning disabilities and autism. We’ve been fortunate to receive support and guidance throughout her life, and we know just how invaluable organisations like Sense are for families of children with complex disabilities and visual or hearing impairments.
Any donation, no matter the size, would mean so much — and will help support more children like Megan and their families.
Thank you so much for your support. ❤️
