Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am undergoing this challenge to raise awareness of the impact of unsupported mental disability and to support the work ADHD Foundation is doing to change the narrative for neurodiverse people.
In February 2023 I was hospitalised following a physical and mental breakdown, after a prolonged period of ignored, untreated and unsupported struggles with post-natal depression, at the time undiagnosed ADHD and undiagnosed auto-immune diseases.
Coming to terms with my challenges has been very painful, particularly alongside misguided notions of what ADHD is, an ignorance of how this severe a disability it is and how it impacts day to day functioning. Discrimination towards neurodiverse people happens every day, is widespread and deeply harmful.
ADHD Foundation Neurodiversity Charity's work is broadly targets individuals, families, businesses and workplaces in supporting, building knowledge and providing valuable resources around not just ADHD but all neurodiversity.
Swimming has been life-saving for me and is a critical part of me staying well and living successfully with ADHD.
It would mean a great deal if you would consider sponsoring me and supporting the life-saving work of the ADHD Foundation
