Story
Hi, my name is Jenny.
I recently lost both grandparents who raised me and my sisters. My dad who was taking care of them for almost 5 years, lost both of his beloved parents after a struggle of years with heavy heart seeing his loved ones slowly fade away.
We didn't had an opportunity to use outside help and this was very hard physically, as they needed 24/7 support in a day to day activities, being unable to walk on their own and for almost 2 years to even stand or eat, but even harder mentally as they would get confused and later lost most memories of even being his parents.
I will be doing a 5 mile walk with my son Sasha this Sunday the 24th as a part of "Walk the test way" event to support charity that helps people in similar situations and hope to help raise some money, so more people can use help of Mountbatten and hopefully help bring some peace to their loved ones in their final moments.
When patients and families first come to Mountbatten they often say, ‘now we don’t have to worry.’ They can see the relief in their eyes when they realise they will not have to cope with dying or caring and grieving for their loved one alone.
When you donate, your gift will be used to fund:
-24/7 care and support for people at home or in our inpatient unit.
-bereavement support for anyone who needs it.
-rehabilitation & enablement services to help those with life-limiting conditions live as well as they can.
-specialist medical equipment.
*When donating through Just Giving, the funds donated will be transferred directly to the charity.
Thank you for reading this and any donations you make. <3
