Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I work in the Audiology department at CHFT, where we have recently begun developing our services for patients living with dementia. Hearing loss can have a significant impact on individuals with dementia, but accessing support can sometimes be challenging. Assessments may feel overwhelming, and unfamiliar environments can make it difficult for patients to remain calm and comfortable.
To help improve this service, we are looking to enhance our current resources and provide more tailored support. As part of this, I’m taking on the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis to raise funds that will support the continued development of our department and improve care for these patients.
Dementia is something very close to my heart, as I sadly lost my Grandma Nancy at the age of 91 last year to this illness. Seeing the difference that dedicated, compassionate support can make to both patients and their families is incredibly important to me. If climbing a mountain is my way of contributing and helping make that difference, then I’m more than happy to take on the challenge!
