PIPS Hope and Support was established in 2003 by people who had experienced suicide in their families. The organisations aims are to help save lives, support those affected by suicide and self-harm and provide suicide prevention training and education workshops

Story

The local farming community in Drumgath parish is coming together to honour the memory of Patrick (Paddy) McAvoy with a special Tractor Run marking the 10th anniversary of his passing. The event, held in aid of PIPS Hope and Support, will take place on Saturday, 5th July 2025, leaving Drumgath GAA football grounds at 3:00 PM.

PIPS Hope and Support is the leading, independent advocate in the Southern Trust, Newry, Mourne & Down Council and Upper Bann areas on all aspects of suicide, including; intervention, prevention, postvention and trauma in order to reduce and prevent suicide, self-harm and emotional & mental distress.

PIPS in Newry have been a tremendous support to our family and many others walking the same painful road,” said a family spokesperson. “This day is not only about remembering Paddy, but also about helping others through the lifesaving work PIPS continues to do.”
