Story
My name is Jenny and I am one of the trustees of Issabelles Appeal
I have organised a group charity walk on the 17th June , we will be walking 18 miles from Castleton to the Wadsley Jack Sheffield 6 to raise money for 2 causes, the first is Issabelles Appeal, a Sheffield children's cancer charity that grant wishes to the children undergoing gruelling cancer treatment at Sheffield Childrens Hospital and their families, giving them the chance to make special memories at such a difficult time. We also provide a goodie bags to each child, which includes a Bearamy teddy and a snuggle blanket amongst other keepsakes, this provides some comfort at a difficult and scary time for the children.
The second cause is for a young man called Alfie, he was involved in a motorcycle accident on the 19th March 2023 he broke his back had a bleed to his brain and suffered really bad chest injuries he’s currently still in hospital but his mum is trying to get him home. This was only weeks of his Dad passing away, a really difficult time for all of the family. They need to raise money to have a ramp put in their home because he’s going to be wheelchair dependent and can’t walk unaided at the moment it would make his like so much easier if they could have a ramp fitted around the back of the house as there are steps up to the front, there is a year’s waiting list for this through the NHS, so we are doing what we can to get him home to be looked after by his family
